Liana is built with recovery in mind. You can configure fallback keys and time-locked recovery paths so that if a device is lost, access can safely be regained without compromising security. Your bitcoin remains under your control. Recovery doesn’t depend on Wizardsardine or any third party.

Yes. Liana allows you to define policies that include family members or trusted people as part of your recovery plan. For example, you can set a rule that after a delay, another keyholder regains access if you are unavailable. Perfect for trustless inheritance planning. It is flexible, transparent, and always under your control.

Most wallets either rely on trusted co-signers, or are built for advanced users only. Liana is built with loss protection in mind from the ground up. Recovery keys are timelocked, meaning they can only access your funds after a delay if your regular keys are lost or unavailable. Liana uses Miniscript, a modern and secure standard for building Bitcoin wallets, and is fully open-source. Everything is enforced on-chain, not by Wizardsardine's servers.

No, you can choose to use Liana Connect and use our servers instead. However, if you want maximum privacy and sovereignty, you can connect Liana to your own Bitcoin Core node or Electrum server. Running your own node is always recommended for advanced users who want full independence.

Because Liana is fully open-source and your wallet policies are enforced on the Bitcoin blockchain itself, you are never locked in. If development stopped, your funds would remain safe and recoverable. Any Miniscript-compatible wallet software could import and use your wallet descriptor. Your security does not depend on Wizardsardine continuing to exist or maintain the software.
